Do You Like Corn?
The Tocobaga were also known to eat corn. However, this is an unusual fact. Corn rarely grew in the Tampa Bay area, so we are not sure exactly how the Tocobaga were able to successfully grow this tasty vegetable. Some people think a Native American tribe from the north gave the Tocobaga seeds to grow corn. What do you think happened? Discuss with your group.
